The MKE Urban Stables starting construction this week will create a set of new, positive experiences that people who need support currently cannot find within Milwaukee.
It will offer stables for up to 24 horses. Half of those are for therapy programs. Veterans and special needs students will be able to groom the horses, or walk them around an indoor arena space. The remaining dozen horses are for the Milwaukee Police Department’s growing mounted patrol, which will host more student visits and other groups with the goal of improving community relations.
